While existing as a mutating collaborative effort, Bassnectar is traditionally the amorphous music project of Lorin Ashton, a San Francisco based Musician / Producer / DJ, (probably the largest cult following of any DJ in San Francisco SF Weekly) highlighted by massive basslines, thick mob scene beats, freakshow energy, emotive melodics, traditional acoustic instrumentation, and fearless mashing of genres, styles, sounds, moods, and approaches. Inveterate storyteller Paul Thorn credits his gift of gab to being the son of a Pentecostal preacher. "You get to know how to get along with almost everybody. You just have to sit down and start getting to know one another." Thorn has a lot about himself to tell. One would expect to hear great stories from a guy who boxed Roberto "Hands of Stone" Duran on national television, made chairs for a living, skydives for fun, had his first singing gig at age three, and who happens to be one of the South's finest songwriters. Paul Thorn doesn't disappoint.Thorn started down his music path when he was not long out of diapers. "As a child, I sang in churches. My first paying gig was at a revival with my father when everybody came around and put money in my tambourine. After the service, there was a little girl, also about three years old, who I had a crush on. I stuffed the money I got all down in my pockets. After the service we sat around the back of the church and I bought her a Coke with the money I'd earned. That was my first paying gig, and I guess my first date." Thorn writes and performs songs taken from life - good times, bad times, and everything in between. His songs are often constructed on the universal themes of love, loss, and yearning. But far from ever sounding commonplace, Thorn is able to weave in a slightly loopy Southern sense of the unexpected that draws you in and never lets go. It's a concert/party you won't want to miss!

Combine this with the driving rhythm of a jazz percussionist, and you've got the ingredients for a show you won't soon forget. In a single song, they transport an audience across the globe with the alluring and dramatic strains of gypsy fiddles, the bounce of a Celtic reel, and then cross back over the border to pick up a klezmer hook and some good old-fashioned bluegrass licks.

This world traveling hobo cabaret fuses the classical influences of vaudeville with the modern hard-driving pulse of rock and roll. The shows dynamic thirteen member cast combines their unique talents of burlesque, sword swallowing, musical magic and more to create a fantasy fulfilling performance. Prepare for a cartoon ride through their psychedelic reality as gold-winged goddesses dance, a spaceman soars on guitar, and rabbits carry rainbows - all under a confetti filled sky. Yard Dogs Road Show is a conceptually leaderless family of friends who travel and perform together, creating their own reality in a mad mix of compromise and mutual support.

An American singer-songwriter, Eric Lindell is best-known for his 2008 album Low on Cash, Rich In Love and the single from it, Lay Back Down. He has performed with New Orleans drummer Johnny Vidacovich and Wars Harold Brown, who have also contributed to his albums. His popularity has remained steady and he has made appearances, including on the television program Late Night with Conan OBrien.
Lindells musical style borrows from 1970s blues-rock, soul, and R&B. His style has also been called blue-eyed soul, a common short-hand used for Anglo blues singers that has been applied to artists including Daryl Hall (of Hall and Oates fame) and Van Morrison, among others.

'pumping soul into funk, blue and roots-rock' -USA Today
'a tremendous raw talent with a fully realized musical vision' -The Chicago Sun-Times
'Lindell serves up bluesy blue-eyed soul smothered with a big heap of New Orleans funk...The shuffling interplay of electric guitars, percolating organ and Creole horns never fails to make you feel like dancing all the way down Canal Street' -The Los Angeles Daily News

Known as southern rock pioneers. their seven gold and three platinum albums have spawned classic hits like Heard It In a Love Song, Fire On The Mountain, Can't You See, and Take The Highway, and their definitive blend of rock, rhythm & blues, jazz, country, and gospel has earned them hit singles on both the Billboard Country and Gospel charts. They continue to be played on classic rock and country radio; and after 30 yrs of touring they can still rock your socks off!

The Marshall Tucker Band consists of Gray, Milner, Lawter, Swanlund, David Muse (formerly of Firefall, on sax, flute, and keys), and drummer B.B. Borden (formerly of Mother's Finest). The band took several stylistic detours with 1998's all-blues outing Face Down in the Blues and the 1999 spiritual album Gospel. A thorough reissue campaign was inaugurated in 2003, and the new studio record Beyond the Horizon appeared one year later. In 2006, the group released a live 1980 concert, Live on Long Island, and another new studio project, The Next Adventure, appeared in 2007.

Built to Spill began in 1993 & became known for finding the middle ground between postmodern, Pavement-style pop and the loose, spacious jamming of Neil Young. From the outset, the band was a vehicle for singer/songwriter/guitarist Doug Martsch, who revived the concept of the indie guitar hero just as Dinosaur Jr.'s J Mascis -- another important influence -- was beginning to fade from the limelight. On record, Martsch the arranger crafts intricate, artfully knotted tangles of guitar; in concert, his rough-edged soloing heroics earned Built to Spill a reputation as an exciting and unpredictable live act. Martsch's compositions are filled with fractured song structures and melodies, often veering abruptly into new sections with little attention to continuity or traditional form. (In fact, the difficulty of Martsch's songs helped force him to abandon his original intention of working with many different lineups, since the twists and turns were difficult to master.) His lyrics have all the loopy wit and pop-culture references of many a '90s slacker icon, but Martsch changes things up with a genuine wistfulness.

Jim Derogatis of the Chicago Sun-Times calls Frightened Rabbit masters of the heartbreak anthem, and theres really no better way of saying it. The Scottish quintet has been making desperately forlorn folk-rock since forming in 2003. Lead singer-songwriter Scott Hutchison adopted the moniker Frightened Rabbit, a nickname his mother used to call her socially awkward child, when he was working alone, and it stuck as band members Grant Hutchison (his brother), Billy Kennedy, Andy Monaghan and, most recently, Gordon Skene joined the ranks. Scott Hutchison is the force behind the bands lyrics, which can be brutal take Keep Yourself Warm from the bands sophomore album, The Midnight Organ Fight.
Let that songs chorus hit you once, and youll never forget it. Frightened Rabbits most recent release, The Winter of Mixed Drinks, is even fuller and more luscious, and explores new facets of loneliness and longing in beautiful, sweeping chords.

Jason Boland & The Stragglers acclaimed for their distinctive, hard-charging and rootsy brew of country and rock. Crackling with the raw outlaw voltage that has made them one of the fastest-rising forces in contemporary country, the quintets execution and delivery is uniformly impressive, and with material divided between Stragglers standards and fan favorites.
Every song here by Boland and his bandmatesRoger Ray on steel, lead guitar and dobro; fiddler Noah Jeffries; bassist Grant Tracy; and drummer Brad Riceis delivered with an invigorated emphasis, and titles like Comal County Blue and Backslider Blues resonate with fresh new contours, while the case-hardened tenderness of Jesus And Ruger again underscores Bolands mastery as a lyricist and interpreter.
